The transfer of your own fat (called lipotransfer) is a modern method that allows natural body or facial modelling without the use of foreign material. Fat taken from one part of the body (e.g. the abdomen, thighs or hips) is re-injected into areas where it is deficient after special processing. Whether it is depressions in the face, loss of volume in the cheeks, narrow lips, or minor body deformities.

How does lipotransfer work?

  • The procedure is always preceded by a personal consultation with a plastic surgeon who will assess the suitability of the procedure, suggest the ideal procedure and determine the areas from where the fat will be removed and where it will be subsequently injected.
  • The lipotransfer itself can be performed as an outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia, or for more extensive procedures under general anaesthesia.
  • Slight swelling or bruising may occur after the procedure, and recovery is usually short.
