What is an 808 nm diode laser and how does it work?
The diode laser with a wavelength of 808 nm penetrates the deeper layers of the skin, where it acts on melanin clumps (pigmentation) while stimulating collagen production in the dermis. This has a dual effect. It breaks down pigment, where sun spots, age spots or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation are gradually lightened and fade away, and rejuvenates the skin. This is because the laser heats the deeper layers of the skin, promoting collagen and elastin production, firming the tissue and improving the overall appearance of the skin.
