How liposuction works

- The liposuction itself is usually performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure. The surgeon inserts a thin cannula through tiny incisions and gently sucks out the fat.
- The length of the procedure varies depending on the area to be treated - on average it takes between 1 and 2 hours.
- After the procedure, the area is slightly swollen and bruising may occur. It is recommended to wear compression underwear for better healing and body contouring.
